Wren Anjali

As a passionate connector of people and nature and nature-connection enthusiast, Wren loves roaming the forests and valleys soaking up the sights and sounds.

Program Coordinator

Wren began their journey with Primitive Pursuits as Summer Day Camp Director. Attracted by the cohesive and collaborative work atmosphere and scope of programming, Wren remarked that coming to work at Primitive Pursuits felt like coming home. Still fairly new to Ithaca, Wren has been enjoying their life-long passion for nature with others for many years providing deep nature connection and primitive skills offerings at schools and conferences throughout the Midwest. Wren holds Permaculture Design and Teaching Certificates, is a Certified Recreational Tree Climbing facilitator, a Master Naturalist and has completed the Farm and Garden Apprenticeship at EarthDance Organic Farm School. Wren is a former choral music director and loves to get people singing, especially fun nature-centered chants and songs. In their free time you will find Wren hiking, exploring nature’s wonders, gardening, and spending time with their spouse Corirose and dog Winnie (named in honor of Winona LaDuke). Wren holds a Masters degree in Speech/Language Pathology and has spent much of their professional life working with children.

"I feel blessed to be able to devote myself to what I love the most. Deeply dedicated to serving the Earth, I aim to live my value of low-carbon sustainability and devote myself to deeply appreciating the soil, skies, and beings. I choose to live in community, engaged in practices of spiritual communion, compassionate communication, shared resources and shared power. I believe that healthy community is the foundation of all healing. I serve in the world as a nature-connection mentor, primitive skills teacher, healing practitioner, music-maker and storyteller. Wherever I am, I love to find ways to build and support harmony and group intimacy. Co-creating experiences of transformational healing in nature settings is some of my most cherished work. In my soul I carry a deep understanding of humanity’s opportunity to restore/re-story a life-fostering essential reality for these changing times. This is what I sing about, dream about, live for and pray for."
