Join us for this workshop and explore the process of making Adirondack pack baskets from the beautiful black ash tree. These baskets are functional, durable, and stunning works of art. Learn how to identify the black ash tree and how to properly prepare it for splint making. Experience the process of pounding the wood and peeling up growth rings as we transform this soggy piece of wood into beautiful basket splints.
Everyone will have the opportunity to make a basket out of black ash, as well as a full size pack basket out of pre-made rattan strips. You will walk away with a beautiful finished basket as well as the tools to take this skill as far as you want!
