4-H Duck Race & Run
Sunday, April 23, 2017- Ithacans will gather to watch 3400 bright yellow rubber ducks tumble over the falls at Cascadilla Gorge Trail then bob down the creek in a frantic and fabulous race to the 4-H Education Center on Willow Avenue.
The Duck Race is an important fundraiser for 4-H Programs and a really fun way to support us! Enter to win some really great prizes and enjoy a fun day outside.
Games and refreshments are available throughout the day at the Education Center, 615 Willow Ave., Ithaca, NY.
This year the 4-H Duck Race will again be held in conjunction with the Compost Fair from Noon to 4 p.m. with the duck drop at 2pm. There will be live music and entertainment (including Rot-n-Roll and one-of-a-kind Compost Theatre), information booths, activities for kids, bins (including worm bins) for sale, continuous tours of our compost demonstration site and more! For more info, visit the Compost Fair event page
HOW IT WORKS
Each Spring, 4-H members and volunteers team up to put on this fun, family-friendly event that raises as much as $12,000 for 4-H programs in Tompkins County. Individuals take "Chances" on numbered rubber ducks in the race, at $5/duck or $20/a flock of 5 ducks. See "How To Enter".
A $750 Cash "Nest Egg" goes to the first duck across the finish line. 50 more Runner-Up prizes will be awarded to winning ducks. See our "Sponsors" and the complete list of prizes.
You need not be present to win, but why miss the fun?!! All proceeds benefit 4-H Youth Programs in Tompkins County.
