Join us for a day and learn the amazing art of making fire by friction. By the end of the day you will know all the basics for successfully making fire on your own, have the tools to continue learning about this age-old art, and go home with a working bow-drill friction fire kit!
You will learn:
How to use bow-drill and hand-drill fire kit to make friction fire
- How to create a bow-drill friction fire kit
- The principles of wood and tinder selection
- The care and feeding of fires - how to create a structure that can be safely tended
- How to practice these skills and continue to learn on your own
Class will take place at our beautiful 4,000-acre Arnot Forest Campus from
10:00am-4:00pm, Saturday, August 12th
Maximum participants – 20, please bring your own lunch.
