Hidden Trails: Mink, Raccoon, and Fisher Guild (week 2)

Conor Millard, July 15, 2019

The Hidden Trails

The Raccoon Guild, the Fisher Guild and the Mink Guild, are all loyal to the Hidden Trails name. Each Guild had their own fun, and sometimes they came together as a trio.

Fisher

The Fisher Guild went to cool down by the water. They followed the Monkey Run Trail for a quarter mile to the stream; there, they splashed around and chased crayfish. Later, that day, they assemble with the Raccoon an Mink Guilds for fun in the fields.

The Fishers cool down and splash around!

Raccoon

This guild captured the attention one of the most notable and distinguished residents here at 4-H Acres; that’s right, Mr. Raccoon himself. Usually a shy and private creature, Mr. Raccoon developed an unlikely friendship with these campers. All throughout the week he left hidden stashes of food for us, always with a handwritten note and signature paw print. One time he left us apples and marshmallows - only one issue - they were tied way up in a tree! Without a knife on hand, we decided to burn the rope and get the bounty!

After stalking us for a week, Mr. Raccoon mustered up his courage and crept cautiously towards us. It was truly an honor to meet him and speak with him. He deserves all the respect in the world.

Sorry it's blurry, still a great pic.

Mr. Raccoon saw that he could trust us and came to say hello!

Mink (AKA Star Scouts)

Oh hey Minks! Or should I say, Star Scouts! They were an energetic bunch, and quickly realized that they were destined for glory. There was talk of renaming the guild. Some were saying scouts. Some were saying stars... eventually a voice of wisdom cried out, "Star Scouts!"
