Sierra grew up in the rolling hills of the Endless Mountains region of NE Pennsylvania. As a young girl she found her deepest connection to life through the land. She spent much of her free time exploring the woodlands that surrounded her home and laying in the fields of high grasses in the mid-day sun watching clouds. This very same connection led her to Naropa University where she completed her master’s degree in Transpersonal Psychology with a concentration in Ecopsychology.
Sierra’s focus is on the childhood relationship with nature through the lenses of Montessori philosophy, mindfulness, and wilderness rite of passage. As a mother of a young girl who loves the natural world, Sierra’s own awe of nature is constantly renewed. As an Ecopsychologist, she hopes to continue working with programs like Primitive Pursuits helping children to explore their innate connection to nature through all of life’s magic.
