Monica is a home schooling mom of two girls who likes to spend time in nature whether with family, alone or with a big bunch of people. She grew up here in Ithaca, sought out alternative educational approaches from a young age, attended ACS, Cornell and the Audubon Expedition Inst. and finally settled back here. She worked for the Outings Program of the Ithaca Youth Bureau for 10 years, started a parent-child nature program when her kids were young and ran it free of charge for several years. She has also volunteered for both Earth Arts and Primitive Pursuits. She likes to garden, play games, hike, play handbells, learn about flowers, trees, and birds, and tries to give a helping hand to native plants by planting them all over her land every year.
