From campfire cooking to canoeing, campers spent week two creating lasting memories, building new skills, and exploring the outdoors.
Already week two of camp wow! Our campers came in this week with amazing energy, positive mindsets, and, most importantly, excitement to learn new things.
Monday morning, our Primitive Café – Crows played fun games in the front field, including IT Tag! Our Growing Wild kids explored Trillium Camp, played in the sandbox, enjoyed the sunshine, and spent time in the creek to cool off. Some of our campers also got to do plenty of physical work. Our Wild Crafters built a display table using wood, while the Forest Explorers and Peregrine Falcons took on hands-on projects like building shelters, carving digging sticks, and working together to build a big fire. We also saw lots of creativity this week as our Forest Explorers and Yellow Warblers built amazing fairy houses! In the afternoon, campers continued stone drilling and played games in the field before ending the day with a big game of Capture the Flag in the meadow.
On Tuesday, our campers were becoming more familiar with the campgrounds. The Yellow Warblers had fun playing in a mud bath and searching for little bugs and creatures under logs and on the trees. Wild Crafters continued making things with cordage, creating all kinds of things, including bracelets and necklaces. The day wrapped up with fun guessing games and more circle games.
Wednesday morning, Primitive Café – Crows searched for ingredients to make pesto pasta for lunch. In the afternoon, our Forest Engineers collected dirt to build a boardwalk over a muddy section of the trail, making it easier to walk through. Primitive Café – Crows also spent time baking and roasting delicious foods over an open fire, including potatoes, scones, and brownies! We finished the day with more games in the field behind the pole barn.

Thursday morning, one of our camper groups headed to Myers Park for canoeing. They enjoyed a variety of water activities while also learning about canoe safety. Back at camp, our Wild Crafters worked on different crafts like stick weaving and spent more time cooking, making brownies, grilling rhubarb, and even trying fermented soda that had been left to ferment for several days! Primitive Café – Crows also made udon noodles over the fire. We ended the day with a massive game of Capture the Flag.
We wrapped up another amazing week on Friday! Our Growing Wild campers made delicious blueberry lemon balm pancakes to start the morning. Both Primitive Café groups played games where they had to provide shelter, water, food, and safety to build a community for a “baby.” Throughout the week, our campers enjoyed so many games that were not only fun but also helped build valuable skills. Friday ended with a gallery showcasing everything our Pathfinders created. Campers walked around admiring each other’s projects while enjoying music, food, and games. The Pathfinders also found creative ways to use their cordage not just for jewelry, but for making silly faces too! To finish off the day, campers played games near Trillium with hula hoops and ran through the sprinkler before saying their goodbyes and sharing their favorite memories and everything they learned during another fantastic week at camp.Â
