Returning to Our Roots with Arnot Forest
In April, 2016 Cooperative Extension of Tompkins County finalized a lease with Cornell University for the Arnot Teaching and Research Forest, and we at Primitive Pursuits will serve as the lead coordinators for the usage of the land.
Fall Update from the Catbird Homeschool Flock
This week the Friday Catbird Flock began the day with sharing stories of relatives and ancestors, listened to a story about a feisty old lady, her prim and proper son and 2 goblins and then headed out to build a fire and make some warming stone soup!

The Right Place at the Right Time
Today I processed my first deer. She had been hit by a car. Her neck and body were still faintly warm, and her eyes were still clear. She had sustained serious internal damage. However, she was such a beautiful, large, healthy doe, I couldn’t even begin to lift her into the back of my car myself.
